In the midst of the busy and exciting schedules of our students’ daily lives, lunchtime in our cafeteria serves as a welcome respite for students and faculty alike. We keep our groups of diners small - typically only two grade levels at a time - so that the atmosphere in the dining hall feels more casual and conversational.
Teachers and administrators share in the experience as well. Our Head Chef prepares a daily fare that is healthy but that kids will realistically eat: butternut squash in pizza sauce, cauliflower “mac” and cheese, gluten-free corn bread on BBQ Day, and more. Students are invited to try samples of new food like rhubarb, sweet potato hummus, or a harvest quinoa salad. In addition to options like these and our daily homemade soup option, students can also choose from a variety of deli sandwiches, wraps, salads, and an assortment of a la carte fruit and vegetable items.
To start their day right, students can enjoy a healthy array of options for breakfast as well. If they’re looking for something hot, they can enjoy some turkey sausage, pancakes, or a breakfast wrap. Fruit, yogurt, bagels, and oatmeal with a toppings bar are part of the menu as well. Parents are always welcome to come and enjoy a good morning meal with students as well - all the pleasure of a family breakfast with none of the prep work or clean up!
Meal time at St. Edmund’s Academy is a wonderful time to relax and rejuvenate while spending time with friends.
